beskrivelse:
This is the remains of a British pillbox, made by the British Army during World War II. The Faroe Islands were occupied by United Kingdom, while Denmark (which the Faroe Islands belong to) was occupied by Germany. This place is called Eggjarnar or Skúvanes, the sea cliff is 204 meters above sea level; it is located on the west coast of the island Suðuroy, which is the southernmost of the 18 islands of the Faroes. This pillbox is just a few meters away from the edge. The cliff is vertical. The view on this photo is towards south. The mountains Gjógvaráfjall, Hvannafelli and Vágfelli are in the background. There is another pillbox on this place and the concrete remains of a gun pit are just a few meters away.
