Mesterskabet blev afviklet i Brøndby Hallen i Brøndbyvester ved København i perioden 2. - 8. maj 1991. Danmark var VM-værtsland for anden gang, og det var også anden gang, at Brøndby Hallen lagde gulv til VM-stævnet.
