UEFA Champions League 1996-97 var den 42. udgave af UEFAs største europæisk klub-turnering, den femte siden rebrandingen til UEFA Champions League, og den sidste, der kun omfattede klubber, der var mestre i deres hjemlige ligaer. Turneringen blev vundet af Borussia Dortmund i en overraskende finale-sejr mod de forsvarende mestre Juventus. Det var deres eneste titel i turneringen hidtil, og den første titel for Tyskland siden genforeningen. De to parter mødtes også i finalen i UEFA Cuppen i 1992-1993-sæsonen, hvor det italienske hold vandt 6-1 sammenlagt.
