Stadion
Et stadion er et større anlæg med forskellige faciliteter til idræt og boldspil herunder baner, tilskuerpladser og omklædningsfaciliteter. Som synonym anvendes også idrætsbane eller idrætsplads.
Større stadioner, hvor der dyrkes idræt på højt niveau, kan have mange tusinde sidepladser. Hovedparten af de største stadioner findes inden for sportsgrenene fodbold og amerikansk fodbold.
Et stadion anvendes ofte til andet end idræt, fx koncerter. Når anvendelsen er varierende, benyttes ofte betegnelsen arena eller multiarena.
Et stadion kan være åbent eller overdækket i større eller mindre grad. Et fuldt overdækket stadion kaldes også en indendørsarena.

"Wemberley.......Wemberley" As my football team failed to make it to Wembley again (only one visit in 1975 - there's the clue), this is my first proper visit old or new to the National Stadium except for a greyhound meeting in 1997.

"Wemberley.......Wemberley" As my football team failed to make it to Wembley again (only one visit in 1975 - there's the clue), this is my first proper visit old or new to the National Stadium except for a greyhound meeting in 1997.
But this was for a domestic club rugby union match between Saracens & Worcester, even with the crowd of almost 41,000 it was still less than half full. Even though Saracens are based at Vicarage Road, they do play some of their home games here. A truly stunning ground nonetheless.
