Osteopati

Osteopati i Danmark

Place both hands on the same side of the spine;beginning at the first lumbar, move the muscles slightlyupward and strongly outv\ard, permitting the muscles toslip under the hand, through the lumbar and sacral regions.Treat the opposite side in a similar manner. 4. With the patient lying in the same position, theoperator removing his left shoe, places his left foot upon thesacrum, the right between the limbs of the patient; graspthe patients ankles, and, while pressing hard with thefoot upon the sacrum, draw the limbs slowly but stronglyupward as high as the patient can stand without much pain(cut 45). The spinal erection center lies in the lumbar region, andthe motor nerves for the deep artery of the penis arise fromthe first to the third sacral nerves, while the motor nervesfor the ischio-cavernosus and the deep transverse perinealmuscles arise from the third to the fourth sacral nerves.

The above treatment, therefore, stimulates these centers, and frees the action of these nerves, permitting them to perform their functions. 5. Place the patient on his side with the limbs flexed;dip the finger in vaseline, ijassing it carefully up the rectum;manipulate gently but thoroughly the prostate gland, whichwill usually be found enlarged, thus obstructing the escapeof the semen from the ejaculatory ducts. 6. It is always advisable to manipulate thoroughly thepenis and testicles, giving strong extension to these parts. Treatment should be given every other day, and rarelyfails to effect a cure in from four to twelve weeks. Impotency caused by excesses and syphilitic affections isoften benefited, and sometimes cur
