Mont Saint-Michel er en tidevandsø og kommune i regionen Normandie i Frankrig. Den ligger cirka 1 km fra landets nordkyst ved udmundingen af Couesnon-floden og Avranches. Indbyggertallet var 50 i 1999.

Øen blev befæstet i det 6. og 7. århundrede og hed Mont Tombe. Under Childebert III blev biskoppen af Avaranches, St. Aubert, ifølge katolsk lære pålagt af ærkeenglen Mikael at opføre et kloster og en kirke på øen. Det blev påbegyndt i 708. Klostret blev stående og stedet blev befæstet i 933. Beliggenheden gav fæstningen en vigtig strategisk betydning i forhold til vandløb og havne i området. Kirken er bevaret.
