Maniema (Swahili: Jimbo la Maniema) er en af de 26 Provinser i Demokratiske Republik Congo. [2] Provinsens hovedstad er byen Kindu, og i 2020 blev provinsens befolkning anslået til 2.856.300.[3]
Henry Morton Stanley udforskede området, kaldte det Manyema.[4]
Geografi
Maniema grænser op til provinserne Sankuru mod vest, Tshopo mod nord, Nord Kivu og Syd Kivu mod øst, og Lomami og Tanganyika mod syd.
Administrativ inddeling
Maniema består af byen Kindu og syv territorier: Punia, Pangi, Lubutu, Kibombo, Kasongo, Kailo og Kabambare.
Økonomi
Minedrift er hovedindustrien i provinsen, og diamanter, kobber, guld og kobolt udvindes uden for Kindu.[5]
Kailo Territory er hjemsted for åbne miner med wolframit (en) og kassiterit (en) .[6]

The national flag of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Created according to the 2006 constitution : Son emblème est le drapeau bleu ciel, orné d’une étoile jaune dans le coin supérieur gauche et traversé en biais d’une bande rouge finement encadrée de jaune. (Its symbol is a sky blue flag, decorated with a yellow star in the upper left corner and crossed in the diagonal by a red strip with thin yellow borders) It seems to be identical, except for a lighter field hue, to the 1966–1971 flag.
