Even more remarkably, the Libertarian party achieved this growth while consistently adhering to a new ideological creed—"libertarianism"—thus bringing to the American political scene for the first time in a century a party interested in principle rather than in merely gaining jobs and money at the public trough

This is a photo I took of Andre V. Marrou while he was on a campaign visit to Richmond in 1988, as part of that year's Libertarian ticket.
Roger Lea MacBride (1929–1995) was an American lawyer, politician and television producer, best known for developing the Little House on the Prairie franchise and for running for president of the United States as the Libertarian Party nominee in the 1976 election. In this photo, MacBride tours the Prudhoe Bay Oil Field during his campaign. It would appear that MacBride and his young companion are looking on in awe at active operations occuring at that moment.
