Jordskælvet i Nepal 2015 var et jordskælv den 25. april 2015 med epicenter mellem Nepals hovedstad Kathmandu og den populære turistby Pokhara. Jordskælvet blev vurderet af USGS til styrke 7,8 på momentmagnitude-skalaen.[1]
Jordskælvet forårsagede betydelig skade i Kathmandu. Jordskælvet påvirkede også dele af Nordindien, Tibet og øvrige Kina, og mere end 8 832 er rapporteret omkommet.[2][3] Der rapporteres omkring dobbelt så mange sårede.[4]
Tårnet Dharahara, der indgår i UNESCO-verdensarvsområdet "Kathmandudalen", styrtede sammen under jordskælvet. Et jordskred på Mount Everest dræbte mindst 18.[4]

Bungamati est un village newar, d'allure médiévale mais datant du XVIème siècle. Situé dans la vallée de Katmandou, il est construit sur une colline au sommet de laquelle se trouve un temple important dédié à Rato Machhendranath, le dieu tutélaire de Patan.
Les habitants vivent de l'agriculture mais également de l'artisanat (sculpture sur bois).

This temple is known as junga hiranya hemnarayan mandir which is located at kalmochan ghat in thapathali. it was built by Rana prime minister Junga Bahadur Rana. He named it after his two wives hiranya and hem whereas narayan means god bishnu. He built this temple to attain inner peace(mochan) as he was involved in many murders. it is believed that junga bahadur rana had buried the dead bodies of people who died in kot parva(massacre) under this temple.
