Irish Football League 1897–98 var den ottende sæson af Irish Football League og dermed også det ottende irske mesterskab i fodbold. Ligaen havde deltagelse af seks hold, der spillede en dobbeltturnering alle-mod-alle.
Turneringen blev vundet af Linfield FAC, som dermed vandt ligaen for femte gang. Holdets første fire ligatitler blev opnået i sæsonerne 1890-91, 1891-92, 1892-93 og 1894-95.
