Hart Memorial Trophy
Hart Memorial Trophy – ofte forkortet til Hart Trophy (på dansk: Hart trofæet) er et trofæ der uddeles årligt til den "mest værdifulde spiller" (MVP) i NHL. Det er medlemmerne af Professional Hockey Writers Association der stemmer om hvilken spiller der bedømmes at have været sit holds mest værdifulde spiller i grundspillet.
Historie
Det oprindelige Hart Trophy blev doneret til NHL af Dr. David Hart, efter hvem det har fået sit navn. Det blev første gang uddelt efter sæsonen 1924-25. Den første vinder var Frank Nighbor der spillede for Ottawa Senators.
Da det oprindelige Hart Trophy blev sendt til Hockey Hall of Fame i Toronto i 1960 indførtes i dets sted det nuværende trofæ Hart Memorial Trophy.
Wayne Gretzky har vundet trofæet hele 9 gange, hvilket er rekord. Dominik Hasek er den eneste målmand der har vundet trofæet to gange, i 1997 og 1998.
Joe Thornton blev i 2006 den hidtil eneste spiller der har vundet trofæet i en sæson hvor han har spillet for to forskellige klubber, da han fik trofæet efter en sæson delt imellem Boston Bruins og San Jose Sharks.
Alexander Ovechkin fra Washington Capitals vandt trofæet efter sæsonen 2007-08 foran Evgeni Malkin, Pittsburgh Penguins og Jarome Iginla, Calgary Flames.
