Grafenwöhr (militærområde)

Truppenübungsplatz Grafenwöhr er et militært øvelsesområde på 350 km² nord for Regensburg i Tyskland. Det blev etableret i 1908 og har siden 1945 været under amerikansk kommando, og er i dag hovedkvarter for US Army 100th Area Support Group.

Abrams tanks with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, hunt for enemy in the Hohenfels Training Area during Combined Resolve II. The armored vehicles are part of the European Activity Set, a battalion-sized set of equipment pre-positioned on the Grafenwoehr Training Area to outfit and support U.S. Army forces rotating to Europe for training and contingency missions in support of the U.S. European Command. The EAS will be used for the first time by the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division during exercise Combined Resolve II at the U.S. Army’s Grafenwoehr and Hohenfels Training Areas, May 15 – Jun. 30, 2014.
