Federation Cup 1976 var den 14. udgave af Fed Cup, den kvindelige pendant til mændenes Davis Cup, arrangeret af International Tennis Federation.
38 nationer var tilmeldt mesterskaebet, og det var første gang, at deltagerantallet oversteg 32 lande. Det betød, at turneringen blev opdelt i en kvalifikationsrunde, hvor ti hold spillede om de sidste fire pladser i hovedrunden, hvor 32 hold skulle spille om Fed Cup-titlen. Alle kampene i hovedrunden blev spillet indendørs på tæppeunderlag i The Spectrum i Philadelphia, USA i perioden 22. - 29. august 1976. USA var Fed Cup-værtsland for anden gang, og det var ligeledes anden gang, at mesterskabet blev afviklet i Philadelphia. Det var til gengæld første gang, at Fed Cup-turneringen blev afviklet indendørs.
Turneringen blev vundet af værtslandet USA, som i finalen besejrede Australien med 2-1, og som dermed vandt mesterskabet for femte gang, men for første gang siden 1969. Det vindende hold bestod af Rosie Casals og Billie Jean King, mens Australien blev repræsenteret af Kerry Reid og Evonne Cawley.
Danmark blev repræsenteret af et hold bestående af Anne-Mette Sørensen og Helle Viragh, der som de første nogensinde formåede at spille Danmarks Fed Cup-hold frem til kvartfinalen. Holdet vandt 3-0 over Spanien i første runde, hvilket blev fulgt op af en 2-1-sejr over Uruguay i anden runde. Holdet tabte 1-2 til Holland i kvartfinalen, og kvartfinalepladsen er (pr. 2019) fortsat Danmarks bedste Fed Cup-resultat sammen med kvartfinalepladsen i 1988.
Resultater
Alle holdkampe bestod af tre kampe, to singler og en double, og alle kampe blev spillet bedst af tre sæt.
Kvalifikationsrunde
I kvalifikationsrunden spillede ti hold om de sidste fire pladser i hovedrunden. Runden blev spillet i juli 1976, og vinderne af de fire opgør i playoff-runden gik videre til hovedrunden.
