Kvindernes singleturnering i badminton under sommer-OL 2012 fandt sted 28. juli til 4. august på Wembley Arena. Trækningen blev udført den 23. juli. [1][2] 46 udøvere fra 42 nationer deltog.
Finalen stod mellem den store stjerne Wang Yihan og det nye stjerneskud Li Xuerui, begge fra Kina. Li vandt finalen 2-1 i sæt og blev dermed olympisk mester i sit første OL.[3]

Format
Turneringen begynder med indledende kampe: udøverne splittes op i grupper og spiller mod de andre udøvere i sine egne grupper. De 16 gruppevindere kvalificerer sig til næste del af turneringen, som er standard knockout-format.[4]
