BOSTON (Aug. 24, 2007) - Chief petty officer (CPO) selectees heave around on the halyard to raise USS Constitution’s mizzenmast topsail yard while underway. Sailing under her own power for the first time in 2007, USS Constitution made five knots using six sails manned by more than 150 CPO selectees. At 209 years old, USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world and is visited by nearly half-a-million tourists annually.
