In December 2016 it was decided that the three football clubs of the island Suðuroy would merge into one club. The merger will not be complete until 2018, but they will play as one club in 2017 with the name of all three clubs: TB/FC Suðuroy/Royn. Amongst the fans they are simply called Suðringar (su:ringar) which means people from Suðuroy. They played their first match in the top tier on 12 March 2017 against ÍF Fuglafjørður on their home field at Við Stórá Stadium inTrongisvágur. They won the match 2-1.
