The periodical Engineering, April 9, 1875, had an article by J. Sedgwick Woolley, On Spar Torpedo Warfare, on page 303-304. One of the illustrations that accompanied the article was this one (on page 306), depicting a boat built by Thornycroft. It seems to be based on an 1873 photo of the Norwegian Rap.
