Astronaut photo of the w:Salar de Uyuni salt flat, Bolivia. Mount Tunupa, a dormant volcano, is in the middle of the image. Relict shorelines visible in the surface salt deposits (lower right of the image) attest to the occasional presence of small amounts of water in the salar.
