Coat of arms description: The coat of arms of the city of Siret consists of a blue (azure) shield, with the face of St John the Baptist dressed in fur, all silver (argent), plated [haloed] gold (or) [here fimbriated red (gules)], holding in his right hand a cross of the same metal, and coming out of a crenellated (embattled) silver wall. The chief, diminished, indented, black (sable), is charged with three silver (argent) tears. The shield is stamped with a silver (argent) mural crown, consisting of three crenellated towers. The significance of the summed-up elements: St John the Baptist is the protector of the city of Siret; the chief recalls the territorial losses of historic Moldova. The mural crown with three crenellated (embattled) towers means that the town has the status of a city.
