The user-generated chart based in most part on the w:census results with mother tongue in Poland around 1931 by each Voivodeship. Data originates from the history textbook for secondary schools in Poland edited by Radziwiłł A.., Roszkowski W. (2001), Historia 1871-1939. Podręcznik dla szkół średnich, Wydawnictwo Szkolne PWN, Warszawa, page 278l; ISBN 83-7195-050-0. The chart is presumably based on Polish census of 1931. However, please note that the chart features postwar interpretation of data in line with the Soviet ethnic policies as well as deliberate omission of entire language groups banned by Joseph Stalin in June 1945, such as Ruthenians a.k.a. Rusyns and Carpatho-Rusyns explained by wholesale annexation of previously foreign territories. (Encyclopedia Britannica)
