The print made by Karl Bodmer shows an officer of the Old Dog age society of the Hidatsa named Pehriska-Rupe. He wears his dancing suit used during parades in the village. Pehriske-Rupe spent days i Fort Clark in March 1824 while Bodmer was painting him. He wears a headdress of magpie feathers, each tipped with a white down feather or a piece of weasel skin. An eagle plume and 12 feathers from an eagle tail is secured to the middle of the headdress. He has a red sash hanging down the back. He carries a flute of a wing bone in a string around his neck. His rattle is made of dewclows from a deer or a buffalo calf. His bow is only for show and is made of horn from the antler of an elk or from a mountain goat. He has a foxskin tied to his ankles.
