The mass grave of Greek solders of Adolf Hitler, "Security Battalions", Meligalas, Peloponissos, Greece, 18th of September 1944. The anglo-greek commission has found the total of 707 bodies, men only, in 1946. But the present marble plaques are commemorating the total of 1.120 persons, over 30 of them propably civilians, propably killed during 3 day's fights (there is no detailed info). The Greek Government, participated in the memorial services, from 1949 to 1974. For many years, the official version was, that decent people had been shot here, by the very bad communist partizans. No more officials here, now.
