Part of a 360°C black smoker chimney with the Main Endeavour hydrothermal field on the Juan de Fuca Ridge in the N.E. Pacific ocean. Vibrant colonies of tube worms with red gills thrive on this large edifice, which is predominantly composed of iron- and sulfur-bearing minerals.
