Livar Nysted is a Faroese ocean rower. In 2010 he crossed the North Atlantic Ocean in the rowing boat Artemis Investments together with three other rowers. They sat two records: 'longest distance rowed in 24h in an ocean rowing boat" at 118miles and they broke an old record from 1896 which was set by two Norwegian men, when they managed to row from New York to the Scilly Isles in the UK in 55 days. Livar Nysted and his friends managed to row the same distance in 44 days. They were four though and the Norwegians were two, but no other rowing boat had broke that record before the four men broke it in July 2010. Livar Nysted is also and artist, a painter.
