On the back wall of the sarcophagus room is represented the 2nd hour of the Amdouat, On the ceiling, the celestial vault and its constellations. Sethi 1st is the 1st Important King of the Ramesside period (1294-1279 BC. J.C.). He had many temples built, including the great hypostyle hall of the temple of Amun in Karnak or the temple of millions of years in East Thebes. The tomb of Séthi 1st was discovered by the Italian Belzoni in October 1817.

Its design is totally new. A division is introduced between the upper and lower parts and especially the entire tomb (100m long) is decorated in painted relief.
