The Germanium chip is always solded to the contact wire (Kathode).

The thin anode wire is bend one or two times.

The anode wire 

  is bonded to the external contact wire flat face at 2, 3, 4, 7
  is bonded to the external contact wire at side at 1, 5, 6, 8
Shape of the glass housing is different for each. Color of contact wires differ. None if the diodes was manufactured on the same machine.
