Summary: World heavyweight boxing champion James Joseph "Gene" Tunney (1897-1978) became active in youth work after his retirement from the ring. He is shown in the Westinghouse Building at the World's Fair, chatting with four competitors in the American Institute of New York's science fair. Following the permanent sealing of a time capsule at the Westinghouse Building, Tunney spoke to an audience of business, science, and youth leaders. With Tunney are, left to right, Irving Lazarowitz, Alan Bernstein, Theresa Zinghini, and Jack Zimmer, who were participating in the American Institute's "Showcase Laboratories" at the Westinghouse Building. Beginning in 1941, the science fair competition was transferred to Science Service and became the Science Talent Search
