Description: The anthropologist Frederica Annis Lopez de Leo de Laguna (1906-2004) is shown with her research partner Danish ethnologist Kaj Birket-Smith (1893-1977), at a March 18, 1937, meeting where they were presenting their latest research on Eskimo and Paleoindian art and culture in Alaska. She chaired the anthropology department at Bryn Mawr College and was elected president of the American Anthropological Association.
