  1. Roman landing and capture of Apsis (256 BC)
  2. Roman victory at Adys (256 BC)
  3. Romans siege Tunis (256 BC)
  4. Xanthippus sets out from Carthage with a large army to confront the roman legions (255 BC)
  5. Battle of Tunis. Romans are defeated on the Bagradas River. Consul Atilius Regulus is taken prisoner (255 BC)
  6. Romans retreat to Apsis and leave Africa. Most of them die in a tempest (254 BC)
