beskrivelse:
Cresswell Tower A medieval tower and home to the Cresswell family in the 14th and 15th centuries. See http://www.keystothepast.info/durhamcc/K2P.nsf/K2PDetail?readform&PRN=N13255 for more of its history. Murray's Handbook (1890) adds fictional romance to the story thus: It (the tower) is said to be haunted by a lady of the family, of whom a Danish prince was enamoured. She was watching from the roof for his coming, when she saw her three brothers murder him upon the shore, after which she starved herself to death in the old tower.
