Bri-Plax K280 Interlocking Building Cubes (later marketed under the Kiddicraft brand). Invented by Hilary Fisher Page and patented in 1939 (British patent no. 529580). Page’s later Self-Locking Building Bricks (patent no. 633055, 1949) were copied by Lego and developed into the modern Lego brick.
