beskrivelse:
Part of the Battle of Blenheim tapestry at Blenheim Palace by Judocus de Vos. Looking towards the south-west. In the background is the village of Blenheim and the Church of St Martin. In the middle ground are the two water mills that Rowe had to take to gain a bridgehead over the Nebel. The foreground shows an English grenadier soldier with a captured French colour. The River Danube is here shown in its natural meandering channel. Today it occupies a new man-made straight channel 1.5 km to the south-east of the channel depicted here, to the left. The footprint of the original channel is now known as the River Klosterbach. The water mills are on the River Nebel, originally a tributary of the Danube, now a tributary of the River Klosterbach, which is now a mere stream 6 metres wide at the confluence of the Nebel, whilst the replacement modern channel of the Danube here (1.4 km to the south-east) is 90 metres wide.
