Matches on aerogel, with a flame underneath. A demonstration of aerogel's insulation properties. The wooden matches in the foreground are of the double-dip, strike-anywhere kind, also called birdeyes, with an autoignition temperature around 120 °C. The safety matches behind ignite at 180–200 °C
